On March 3, 2020 Maine will hold a Presidential Primary and Special State Referendum Election. *Residents of District 128 (part of Brewer) will also vote in a Special Election for State Representative to fill a current vacancy.*
The Presidential Primary allows those voters enrolled in the Republican Party or the Democratic Party to vote for their party's presidential nominee.
All Maine voters can cast a vote for the Special State Referendum, which asks the following question regarding a new Maine law that tightens vaccination rules:
Do you want to reject the new law that removes religious and philosophical exemptions to requiring immunization against certain communicable diseases for students to attend schools and colleges and for employees of nursery schools and health care facilities?
The wording of these questions can be confusing. For this referendum, please note that a vote of NO is in favor of the new law, and a vote of YES rejects the new law. For further explanation click here.
