New as of June 2024! LibrarySearch is the new library catalog for the University of Maine System, replacing the URSUS catalog. You can search for books, journals, articles, course reserves, and more.
Mainecat is a library catalog for libraries across the state of Maine. If MaineCat has a book you're looking for, you can request that it be delivered to Fogler Library.
If LibrarySearch and MaineCat don't have the book you're looking for, you may request it through InterLibrary Loan, and the ILL staff will work to arrange delivery of your book to Fogler.
The Download Library provides downloadable e-books and audiobooks to patrons of member libraries, including patrons of Fogler Library. Most materials here tend to be on the popular side. You will need to download an app to your tablet/phone/computer to use this resource; you can find instructions at this link as well.
Provides electronic materials free of charge to all Maine residents. You will have to log in using your last name and library card barcode. Materials here tend to be either journal articles or encyclopedia entries.
Using their MaineCard, graduate students are able to check out up to 500 books at a time for a semester-long loan. Exceptions to the semester-long checkout include Special Collections materials, materials from other libraries that have shorter checkout periods, and recalled items.
Two group study rooms are available for UMaine students, and a Presentation Practice room is available for students to practice a presentation. The Group Study Rooms are shared with the Tutor Program and Writing Center. Reserve a room at the Circulation/Reserves Desk.
Fogler Library has a number of lockers available for loan each semester. The lockers are located on the first and third floors of the building and are reserved for University of Maine students and faculty.
Students are given $16.00 on their MaineCard each semester to use for printing at any campus printing location, including Fogler. (Check the Printing and Scanning link for current per-page printing prices.) Scanning documents to email to yourself is free and is available on the printers in the Information Commons.
Instructors can place readings on reserve for students in their courses. Reserve materials can be made available either in print (at the Reserve desk) or electronic (24/7 internet access).
